FREE MONEY: PEER LEARNING GRANTS

Description: If it sounds too good to be true, in this case, it is not.  “Aunt Lilly” loves pastors; she’s the church’s one foundation and she gives generously.

If you would like to gather a group of colleagues to read books, learn, discuss, and have fellowship, our denomination – in concert with the Lilly Foundation – is glad to help make that happen.  Details can be found at the link below.  In sum however, grants are given in increments up to $3000 for groups that want to get together to learn, grow, and explore.  Deadlines for grant applications are May 1 and Nov 1

The documents linked here were provided by Norm Thomasma from CRCNA Pastor Church Resources.
They have been modified by Trininty CRC, Grandville, MI.
Use them as a tool/template to help your elders process concerns from members about staff or church policies.

Pastors can get discounted rates for condo rentals at Magnolia North in Myrtle Beach.  You can find the rates and availability on the website. www.mbvacationcondo.com

Orange Leaf frozen yogurt of Grandville and Holland spoil pastors.  Go to the store and let them know that you are a pastor and receive a clergy discount card.  This card gives you 20% off of all your purchases there; for yourself, your family, any groups you bring in, you name it.  Show the card, see the discount, and then say, “thanks”.  Be careful though; as Jerry Seinfeld once learned, frozen yogurt is not fat free.

Quiet Waters is a Colorado-based clergy renewal center that seeks to resource churches and pastors about the importance of clergy care.

Peer Learning Grants Available for Pastors

If you purposefully gather up 4 – 8 pastoral colleagues for a time of learning, refreshment, support, and encouragement, you can apply for a grant that is built just for pastors. To date 75% of CRC pastors have done just that. Sustaining Pastoral Excellence (SPE) has grants available for pastor peer learning groups. The next application deadline is November 1. Check out the grant application forms at http://www2.crcna.org/pages/spe_grants.cfm.  If you have any questions, please contact the SPE office at 877-279-9994 X0805.  Or just ask your Regional Pastors Bob or Marc; both have been enriched by participating in them.
